In 2008, AT745 will focus on parameterizations
for general circulation models, with emphasis on
convection, stratiform clouds, and the boundary layer.

We will relate these topics to two big research themes:
the MJO, and the diurnal cycle of precipitation over land.
Additional research themes may be added
in response to student suggestions/requests.

The class will involve in-depth discussion of
papers from the literature. Students will be asked to
prepare in-class presentations on selected topics.
